August Happenings

It has been quite a while since I last wrote on here! My parents flew up from North Carolina on the 9th and we went up the Three Lakes with my grandparents. It was a great, very relaxing week complete with all the things people do when they go to the lake: waterskiing, berry picking (which was pretty scarce but fun), grilling, sleeping, "going into town", and watching the OLYMPICS!!!

On the 13th I drove back to Madison and moved from the second floor to the third floor of my apartment building. I LOVE my new place, it has lots of windows that let in sunlight and I can even see the sky. I can almost see the Capital building too. However I will greatly miss the lovely view of the brick wall of the neighboring apartment building...the one that blocked all sunlight from the living room so I had to check the weather online. But I won't miss that as much as I will miss the view from my old bedroom window of the back stairwell of my building...and the loud people tromping up and down at all hours of the night...*sigh*. I had to go out and buy all the stuff that I've never had to buy before like plates, a shower curtain and a fry pan (and hundreds of dollars of other stuff I "needed")

Then I went back up to the lake for the rest of the weekend and saw all my friends from camp (it was camp's 90th anniversary weekend) who were back from their summer long trips. I got to hear all about their trips and see hundreds of pictures, it almost made me forget I had spent all summer in a windowless office on the seventh floor...but not quite.

This week I'm dogsitting for my boss, she has two adorable dogs so its been a lot of fun. But it made me realize I'm not ready to have my own dog quite yet...it is too much responsiblity having to come home to let them out...and feed them...and cater to their every whim.

School starts the day after Labor day so until then I'll be enjoying the last days of my summer. :)
