brr!

Leaving Red Lodge was very sad for everyone involved, there were many tears. Kate went back to Germany and Anna is spending January at home working at a TV station.
Being back in Madison is great except that it is incredibly cold here this week. I've been watching lots of movies, going out with friends and working hard at work and on my thesis proposal which will happen at the end of the month (yikes). I'm also beginning the job search which is a little bit scary but also exciting, I could stay here in Madison or end up somewhere completely different. I'll really miss my assistantship job, I really like everyone I work with which I think is rare.

We had an improv show on Monday night which was REALLY fun. I, of course, was fantastic (and modest). The next one, and the first one for my new group "Out on a Limb-prov" is Sunday Feb 1st so if you are in the Madison area (or want to be) you should definetly come!

NEW YEARS 2009!

It was New Years Eve day and Kate and I decided we should go skiing. We got all decked out in our gear, had some pictures taken (of course), stopped by the Ski Station to rent some skiis and hear what was going on later that night from the locals.
However, once we got to the mountain it was SO WINDY that we were literally being pushed over and a few times almost fell off the ski lift. We courageously made it down the mountain 3-7 times (who's counting?) and then hit the resort bar for some hot chocolate (with peppermint schnapps).

It warmed us up enough that we decided to try again, huge mistake because it was even windier than before! You can't really tell from th picture but it was soooo cold I can't believe the camera didn't fly out of Kate's hands.

So we did what anyone would do, hit the bar again for some candy cane martinis with the rest of Kate's family:

Then it was time to head out on the town. We got all gussied up and ready, but on the way into town we drove into A DITCH and had to go back to the house to get towed out. Since Kate was driving she went to meet the tow truck while I ate chili.

Once the car was out of the ditch we decided Anna should drive the rest of the night. We hit the Snow Creek bar and stayed until 2009! We made some new friends, danced and had beer spilled all over us!!

I'm heading back to Madison tomorrow, I'll miss it dearly here, and I will especially miss Jim, Mary, Kate and Anna! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
